After your facelift, your face will be bandaged for several days. Stitches will be removed on day 7. During recovery your face will be swollen and some bruising may occur. You can cover bruising with makeup. You may experience tightness or numbness in the facial area that may persist for several weeks. Facelift is a procedure with minimal pain, patients can not do vigorous movements and can shower at 2 days after the procedure. After the procedure the patient will start on a liquid diet and at night a regular diet. To help reduce bruising and swelling, you will start on Arnica Homeopathic drops. You can usually return to normal activities around 2 weeks.
There are some risks on a facelift including bleeding, skin necrosis and infections.
You will need to have a cardiology valuation before the procedure, if you are smoker you need to stop smoking for at least 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after the procedure. If you take aspirin, you will stop taking it for 7 days before the procedure.Iif you take other medications, the cardiologist will tell you if you can keep taking your medication or if you need to stop.
